Point Lookout Resort in Northport, Maine is without a doubt one of my favorite venues for a wedding along the coast of New England. The property is incredible, overlooking all of Penobscot Bay, it is essentially a private mountain retreat perched on the edge of the sea. It was a perfect spot for Kristen & Kiran to be married, considering Kristen has family ties to the Northhaven community and has spent many summers in Maine.
The wedding weekend began with a rehearsal dinner held at Point Lookout’s private beachfront property. Classic Maine fare along with lots of kids chasing dogs… and dogs chasing kids, made the night fun and beautiful! They even had a bonfire complete with s’mores!
With the rehearsal out of the way, we met up with Kristen & Kiran the next day at the Summit as they prepared to get married! Lots of thoughtful details were everywhere… everything personalized and considered. Obviously a tremendous amount of care and love went into the planning of this wedding.
During the preparations, the fog rolled in. A thick, cold, windy and wet fog. The Summit House at Point Lookout has an exquisite view… but quickly that view was obscured and hopes of an outdoor wedding seemed to vanish. Great credit goes to the staff of Point Lookout, who committed to giving the families every option possible, right up to the moment the ceremony would begin. Umbrellas were readied and shawls/jackets covered bare shoulders as the guests prepared to brave the elements. But minutes before the wedding, the fog completely lifted… and it stayed away just until the end of the ceremony. It was beautiful and warm and the spectacular view of Camden, Lincolnville, Northhaven and Penobscot Bay revealed itself as if on cue.

Kristen & Kiran, thank you so much for including us in your wedding day! Your family and friends were fantastic… and I hope we get a chance to see you again when you return to Maine! Seeing how hard you two work, and how hard your families worked to make this day possible was absolutely beautiful. Your stories are the exact reason I love photographing weddings: real people with amazing life experiences celebrating the simple, essential beauty of family and love. Isa - Amazing work. It really told a varied story with the fog, campfire, gorgeous flowers at the end on both bride and groom. How did you capture everything??? I loved the black and whites of little girl! Stunning work!!
