Stone Barns Center Wedding (Pocantico Hills, NY): Julie & Peter
Blue Hill at Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture is an absolutely incredible property for a wedding. When our friend Julie emailed and told us that she had met the man of her dreams and was having her ceremony and reception there, we couldn’t have been happier! We have photographed many, many weddings in Westchester County, NY but the old Rockefeller farm is absolutely one of my favorites. The property is now at the heart of the farm to table movement, featuring local, fresh, seasonal foods prepared by the award winning team from the incredible Blue Hill restaurant team.
Not surprisingly, when you take amazing people to a wonderful location to celebrate a wedding, and you top it off with some of the finest food in the country… you have something very special. And special it was: from the locally raised honey that was offered as gifts to all the guests, to the spectacular floral arrangements, and the parade of kids running and playing on the property, Julie & Peter’s wedding was a true celebration, and one we won’t soon forget. Enjoy the photos!

Locally harvested honey.

These bridesmaids bouquets were incredible. Simple & beautiful.

Joy.

As the sun set, Julie and Peter had a few moments alone before the reception began.

Kids getting fired up for the reception.

Signature cocktail: blood orange margarita.

Mmmmmmm cake.

First Dance.

Julie’s dad giving a very emotional toast.

Peter’s brother put on a dance clinic. Amazing!

Pretty sure Bon Jovi was involved in the making of this image.

The morning after their wedding, Julie and Peter rallied for an early photoshoot. Julie is pretty amazing: sneakers and a muddy dress BEFORE we even started shooting!

Malia and I spent hours scouting the area and had a series of locations at the ready. I think it was worth the effort!

Good light and the shadows of old trees.

That’s the look of true love.

Bliss.

At a wedding we always hope to be able to capture the real emotions of love, comfort, joy and connection. Julie & Peter made that easy!
Thank you so much for having us Julie & Peter! You’ve created something so real and so special. It was an honor to document your day!
