So often in the past few years I have had folks approach with either interest or bewilderment about the concept of “trashing” a wedding dress. People want to know why a sane couple would ever dream of destroying their wedding dress. Here are some great examples…
My approach to “trashing the dress” might be different then others. My objective is NOT to destroy it… but after your wedding the dress probably doesn’t need to be immaculate any longer. Being willing to explore creative locations and shots is the primary reason I’m hired for a “trash the dress” session.
With that said, I will acknowledge that hopping onto a subway in a wedding dress, or doing a photo shoot on a lobster boat just isn’t enough for some people. They DO want to play in their dress and often trash it.
Whether for artistic sake, or just for the fun of it… a “trash the dress” session after your wedding can lead to some of the most memorable shots!
